The Art Of Taking A Great Baby Photo
It's pretty easy to add the cute factor to baby photos. However, there are some tips you can use to make your baby photos look even better.
Some points to remember about taking baby photos are: Get down on their level and wait until the baby is in the right mood. Babies don't usually sit perfectly still (many don't know how to) so using a high speed film or image stabilizing (for a digital camera) can improve picture quality by reducing fuzziness.
Getting Down to a Babies Level
Baby photos look the best when they are full of baby not back ground, as such it is a better idea to kneel down to a babies level and try and zoom in the camera to take the best possible photo. Pictures from an adult level don't show the baby in the best angle, by kneeling down and looking at the baby as straight on as possible the pictures look more true life like and make zooming in easier. Also, focusing on the baby with the camera instead of focusing on the back ground can help to really make the baby "pop" out of the photo.
Baby Moods
Babies' moods can change quicker than their diapers! So catching a baby in a good mood can be harder than it may seem, however it is often worth the wait. Great baby photos are of babies which are smiley or full of mischief, catching them in the act is trick. Babies aren't uncooperative to spite grown-ups, there's usually a reason; children in general and babies especially, tend to act grumpy and temperamental when they are tired, hungry, or bored.
The fix for this is simple, only attempt to take pictures of a well rested, recently fed, entertained baby; all of these factors can often be found at meal times. Babies first foods make sweet baby photos, as do their creative applications of said food. Bath time is another great photo opportunity, they are entertained and often having a great time. Finding a baby in a good mood isn't always a challenge but having the camera ready when it happens can be.
Sleeping babies also make for great pictures, the serine look on their faces, the odd positions they may be comfortable in, and the fact that they usually won't turn their face or move as soon as a good shot is lined up, makes for very adorable baby photos. These sleeping baby photos are often parent's favorites and grand parent's favorites as well.
Digital Cameras and Baby Photos
Digital cameras can be a great tool for taking baby photos as they make it easier to see exactly what picture was taken and the photographer is able to decide if the picture is worth keeping right on the spot. Additionally taking digital photos, transferring them to the internet and having them make in to photo books can help event the busiest parents make adorable keep sake scrapbooks of all their favorite baby photos. Once the books are ordered all the creative parent need to is add the stickers and other fun decorations, and hours of potential work is turned into an hour of so of fun.
Enjoying the time with baby, and baby enjoying themselves as well, makes the best baby photos possible. Babies are always doing photo worthy things and sometimes diligent adults are lucky enough to be there when these things happen. Taking great baby photos is only a matter of knowing a babies temperament, accepting that their behavior is age appropriate, and enjoy!
